SGS 2a Classification

What Does It Mean?

AcneStar® is classified as a medical product by the MHRA (the medical governing body for the UK )

MHRA classified AcneStar® as a 2a classification.

MHRA state that you can dependently test and classify products to a class 1 certification.

Class 2a certification must be tested by an approved independent organization….

…So AcneStar® has been tested by SGS who are on the MHRA's approved testing list.

AcneStar® has passed the testing procedure to a 2a classification and a certificate has been granted by SGS to state as such. This 2a classification grants confidence and assurance that AcneStar® is fully tested and is safe to use.

AcneStar® has the CE mark together with the test house number i.e. SGS's number 0120. This SGS number gives any potential purchaser or distributor traceability of the test.  

The fact that AcneStar® has passed class 2a and carries the CE mark means that it can be sold across Europe .
